Years by Jojora

Years by Jojora

Years have passed since Connor and Oliver's painful break up. Just when Oliver thinks that he can start to move on, Connor reappears in his life and turns it upside down.

I'm really enjoying this look at how Oliver and Connor deal with seeing each other after so many years of no contact. Readers can easily tell that underneath all of the anger, resentment and pain, the two men still have a lot of love for each other. I can't wait to see how this story unfolds! Check it out!

I ❤️ Yaoi: Love Chase by Uro (Free! Doujinshi)

Good morning, yaoi lovers! This week's feature is the Free! doujinshi, Love Chase by Uro.

Rin and Sousuke now work together at the Samezuka police department and things are going really well...almost too well! They've started having sex everywhere, including the police station. Sousuke soon becomes worried for Rin's safety when two of their superiors turn their attention on him.

This is a pretty straight forward doujinshi. There's very little story and a whole lot of smut. LOL! The author also managed to work in a little humor as well. If you're a SouRin fan, give this doujinshi a try.

Read Love Chase here.

Cause to Live by Akinasky

Cause to Live by Akinasky

After the final battle, the rebels are given a choice by a mysterious man: move on to the afterlife or live once again and help him and his people fight a battle of their own.

This is a really interesting premise that I'm enjoying. Seeing the rebels reunite with their friends and lovers, all the while preparing for another, possibly even more dangerous battle, kept me glued to my screen. Check it out!

Book Review: Loving Blitz (North Pole Tales #4) by Charlie Cochet

From North Pole City to Winter Wonderland, preparations are underway after a royal announcement sweeps everyone into a frenzy of festivity. At the heart of the celebration are the city’s most beloved elf pilots, the Rein Dears. Once the Big Flight is behind them, the pilots prepare for the royal event. Assigned a special task of finding an Elska rose, Cupid and Blitzen are unaware of how their friendship is about to change forever.

Yet not all that glitters is gold. The sweet, angelic Cupid hides a dark secret, one that threatens to destroy his Rein Dear status, his friends, and the elf who’s captured his heart. It’s up to Blitzen to help Cupid see the light in the darkness and show him that together they can mend broken hearts.

I know it's a little too early to be reading Christmas stories, but I couldn't pass this one up! I adore this series and somehow missed this book's release last December. As always, Charlie Cochet never fails to enchant me with the delightful universe she's created.

Cupid and Blitzen (Blitz) are such a sweet pair. Both characters always look out for each other and never seem to leave each other's side, even when in danger. Reading about the characters from previous books was like reconnecting with old friends. The conflict in the story was quite interesting and didn't drag out too long. I would highly recommend this adorable story whether it's December or August! It's just an overall good read! I've become accustomed to reading a new story in this series each December, so I'm hoping a new tale will be released later this year!

Endless Searing by harruka

Endless Searing by harruka

After their race against one another, Haru worries that history is repeating itself and he's losing his best friend. He doesn't know what to do to get them back to the way they once were, and fears that Makoto is purposely pulling away from him.

This one shot really tugs at the heartstrings. The author effectively portrays a scenario that all of us fear, but doesn't allow readers to fall into an abyss of angst and despair. I definitely recommend this story for all Makoharu fans. Don't worry, it ends on a good note! ;)

I ❤️ Yaoi: Boku no Kirai na Otouto by Kamo Nabako

Good morning, yaoi lovers! This week's selection is Boku no Kirai na Otouto by Kamo Nabako.

When their parents married, Shiina gained a stepbrother five years his junior, Kazuya. Kazuya is a picky eater and only eats the food prepared by Shiina, who is a chef.

But as Kazuya grows older, he became more and more distant, leaving Shiina feeling at a loss from the growing distance between them.

When Kazuya enters high school he completely changes. Shiina is shocked that is little brother violated him and runs away from home.

Hmmm... I read some of the comments pertaining to this manga, but decided to give it a try anyway. Unfortunately the commenters were right. First, let me talk about the good. I loved the artwork and Shiina is a sweet, likeable character. When readers are first introduced to Kazuya, he is a cute 15-year-old, but as he grows older, he turns into the worst kind of jerk. In my opinion, there is really isn't anything Kazuya can do to redeem himself, but I'm sure the author has something in mind. I can't say this manga is horrible, but it will definitely make you angry.

Sold for Peace by spotteddreamcatcher

Sold for Peace by spotteddreamcatcher

When Nasir is forced into an arranged marriage to member of a clan of rough men and women, he is fearful. Under the new reign of Spartacus, the clan is slowly changing its war-loving ways, but Nasir as well as his family, remains uncertain. However, he is surprised when he finds his soon-to-be husband is not only imposing and strong, but also gentle and sweet.

Talk about an adventure! This is one of those stories that pulls you in right from the beginning. I am 100% invested in this epic tale and can't wait to read more! There is a supernatural/shifter element to this story, but as of this post, it hasn't been explored much. We know there are alphas and omegas, but that is the full extent right now. Highly recommended!

Author Bio

Catherine lives in Italy with her son, three cats, and her husband, who doesn’t like cats. It’s not Catherine’s fault strays seem to love her. She’s the one author who hates coffee and lives on energy drinks instead, and she wishes she could have more time to read, so sometimes she skips housework to do just that. Books can make everything look better, including dirty floors. Catherine Lievens has always loved books. She’s not sure how she managed to marry a man who doesn’t read, but she deals with it and buys enough books for both of them. Just ask him—he frequently wonders if the books on her shelves mate with each other to produce new ones. She never told him it’s only her buying more books. After brushing up her English to graduate in English language and translation, she decided to put it to good use and write the characters she always dreamt of. She likes writing about creatures people say don’t exist, like shifters and harpies, because her life’s too boring to write about what she knows, and she always wanted to be a cat anyway.

If I Loved You by remusmoonyblack-lupin

If I Loved You by remusmoonyblack-lupin

Connor and Oliver are co-stars on a popular tv show. It's now the beginning of a new season and they have to face each other again after a painful break up. How will they deal with their personal issues and effectively portray a loving couple on the show?

I love this! The author has created a great alternative universe in which Oliver and Connor, who play Conrad and Jack on the tv show, are struggling with their real life feelings for one another, all the while trying to remain professional to their commitments. The story is still in its early stages, so I look forward to what's to come!

Lonely Hearts Club by biscuitsandgravy

Lonely Hearts Club by biscuitsandgravy

Sousuke discovers that he's fallen hard for his childhood friend and roommate, Rin. He's not sure how to approach the situation, but with the help of Ai, things may work out for the best. There's just one problem: Rin is in love with Haru.

I am really enjoying this story! The author captures the characters' personalities and emotions superbly and makes me like each of them even more. Although the story is primarily centered on Sousuke and Rin, Ai steals the show in my opinion. If you were on the fence about the little grey-haired swimmer, this story will certainly make you a fan! Highly recommended!

Book Review & GIVEAWAY: The Devil's Hand Series by S. Zanne

The Devil's Hand Series Tour Banner

Title: The Devil’s Hand Series
Author: S. Zanne
Genre: Gay Romance, Paranormal
Length: Short Story + Novella
Publisher:  Wayward Ink Publishing

*REVIEW*

The synopses of the two short stories in this book initially intrigued me, but as I got further into the book, I soon realized that I was lost. I understand what the author was trying to accomplish with the characters, but it came off like a confusing mess. Maybe I missed something, but this book just didn't work for me.  I didn't find any of the characters, from the MCs to the side characters, particularly likeable (obviously Devin isn't meant to be likeable), so I didn't root for them and, unfortunately, didn't care what happened to them. The ending left some unanswered questions, but I guess that's the beauty of an open-ended conclusion; readers can determine for themselves how things played out.

A copy of this book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

DRAWING DEAD

DrawingDead_600x956Devin endured Hell for a long, long time and has come out literally a changed man. Now a demon, he hunts for the one thing that can make him remember something of what it was to be human—however unfortunate that might be for his prey.

He stumbles upon James Goodman, who tugs at the nearly extinguished memories. The pair enter into a relationship that evolves into something more as Devin grooms James for his pleasure.
Though Devin is a demon and James merely human, who holds the power in their relationship is in question, and, in the end, who holds the winning hand may surprise them both.

ACE IN THE HOLE

AceInTheHole_600x965Months later, Devin is imprisoned and James remains reluctant to face him. Torn and conflicted, he’s still reeling from the experience of living at the side and in the bed of the man his family has spent several lifetimes hunting.

James tries to find solace in the bosom of his family, but it leaves him dissatisfied and wanting, unable to fulfill the newly born cravings even he’s not sure he understands. Finally forced to serve his stint as Devin’s jailer, James returns to the place of Devin’s imprisonment, only to find his confusion grow with every day he spends with Devin.

And Devin may not be entirely out of cards.

Unbeknownst to the Goodman family, Devin’s influence extends far beyond the ten- by twelve-foot room in which he’s confined.

James comes to the realization that perhaps his great-grandfather’s plan hadn’t been for the family to save Devin after all, but instead to repay a debt owed—a soul for a soul.

American Zombies by Spotteddreamcatcher

American Zombies by Spotteddreamcatcher

It's the zombie apocalypse and Nasir finds himself being accepted into a group of misfits that just might bring a little stability and comfort to a now chaotic world.

This is a cool little story! I like the way that the author weaved canon elements of the Spartacus universe into this post-apocalyptic storyline. I can't wait to see how it unfolds.

Soulmate Not Wanted by RoseyR

Haru is ecstatic when he finds his soulmate in a kindhearted barista at his favorite coffee shop. Unfortunately, things don't go according to plan when his soulmate tells him he's not interested in a relationship. How will Haru convince the gentle giant that they're meant for each other and to let go of his pride?

This is an adorable one shot that will surely warm your heart and bring a smile to your face. I appreciate how the author developed Haru and Makoto's relationship and showed us that even though they have a connection, things won't immediately be sparkles and rainbows. Definitely give this sweet story a try!

Welcome to College by Spotteddreamcatcher

Welcome to College by Spotteddreamcatcher

Starting college can be fun and exciting, and Nasir can't wait to get started after moving into his new dorm. His roommate is really cool and he knows they'll be good friends, but things start to get a little complicated when he meets Duro's hot older brother, Agron.

You all know that college AUs are probably my favorite in Nagron fanfiction, so I am extremely excited to see where this story goes! It's sweet, funny and the UST is so thick you can cut it with a knife! Check it out!
